Indrahar Pass, situated at 4,342 meters, is a breathtaking trek in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. Trekatribe offers this enchanting trek from July to September. To reach Indrahar Pass, one must first trek to the Triund ridge. Triund (2,975 meters), a highly popular trekking spot, is the highlight of Dharamshala. Nestled amidst the Dhauladhar mountains, it offers stunning views of the Dhauladhar range on one side and the Kangra valley on the other. The trek to the snow-line is 3 km from the Triund ridge, passing through lush forests of oak, deodar, and rhododendron. This area is a paradise for birdwatchers, with numerous songbirds flocking the forests. Despite the rainy season in July and August, trekking is still feasible, and the meadows are lush green, offering a surreal landscape. From Triund, the trail to Indrahar Pass passes through the snowline, Ilaqa Jot, and Lahesh caves. Along the way, you may encounter local shepherds (Gaddis), especially near Ilaqa Jot. It takes approximately 4 hours to reach Indrahar Pass from Lahesh Caves, involving a steep and challenging climb. Indrahar Pass rewards trekkers with breathtaking views of the Pir Panjal Range in the North and the Manimahesh Kailash Peak (5656 m) in the East. Historically, Indrahar Pass served as a route connecting Chamba and Kangra Valley, used by local tribes for travel. The Indrahar trek offers a truly enriching experience for both the body and the soul. Book your journey today for this heavenly trek in the Dhauladhar ranges.
